The 2012 edition of the Michelin France guide has added 124 new restaurants to their good value eats section, 20 of which are found in Paris and range from traditional French bistro fare to Korean cuisine.
In advance of the 2012 release for France at the end of February, the Michelin guide has announced its Bib Gourmand picks, a category in which a three-course meal must come in under €35 in Paris and €29 everywhere else.
A total of 630 restaurants across France made this year's cut. And while most offer traditional French fare, a lone Korean restaurant was able to squeeze itself into the pool of new Parisian additions this year. Bibimbap, in the 5th district of Paris, is named after a traditional and increasingly popular Korean rice dish topped with a variety of marinated vegetables, seasoned beef, and a fried egg, all bound together with a spicy red pepper paste -- a relatively novel and uncommon flavor profile for Parisian taste buds.
Other new Parisian eateries to make the good value eats list include Ambassade d'Auvergne, Bistro des Gastronomes, Chez Casimir, Le Casse Noix and Chatomat.
